do it later!

I bought a birthday gift for my friend from high school yesterday and before I could hide it in wrapping paper, I wanted to share some of its wisdom with you. The spiral-bound book is Do It Later! A 2012 Planner (or Non-Planner) for the Creative Procrastinator. Page after page it will bring a smile, a nod, or a sheepish grin. Some pearls from author Mark Asher:

If it comes to mind, do it. If not, don’t.

In a society that tweets about every nanosecond of life, doing nothing is something to crow about!

Studies have shown that visualizing doing tasks can be as powerful as actually performing them. [I don’t know what to make of that one; I’ll have to give it a good test.]

Everyone says “don’t wait until the last minute.” Why are they so hell-bent on taking away my most productive time?

Procrastination is a state of mind. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.

Procrastination is the body’s way of telling you to chill out and find something fun to do. Don’t ignore the message!

If you would like to purchase this book, look for ISBN 978-0-7649-5659-1. It’s from Pomegranate, Catalog No. W092.

Have a great day! And Happy birthday, Bonnie!
