hope and healthy food

Two non-profits in Wellesley, Mass. have partnered to deliver healthy meals to women coping with ovarian cancer and their families and caregivers. Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer (www.ovationsforthecure.org) and Healthy Habits Kitchens (www.healthyhabitskitchen.com) will provide eight women each month with eight meal kits that can be used immediately or stored in the freezer.

Ovations’s Helping Hands program receives support from The Julie Fund for Women’s Cancers and Morphoteck.

How wonderful that this program addresses the need for good nutrition and psychological support and how nice that the delivered meals give control to the women receiving them — when and what they and their families will eat.

Here’s to ripening tomatoes and summer-sweet corn!
