allow healing

Some quotes I like from Peggy Huddleston’s book, Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster.

“Allow Healing: It’s a peaceful sense of surrender that allows healing rather than commanding it. Surrendering does not mean giving up. Instead it’s a letting go — an entrusting.”

“Create a beautiful image of the healed outcome that makes you feel peaceful whenever you call up the image. Don’t create a bloody horror movie of the medical details…You can’t control everything in your life but one thing you have a great deal of control over is your own mind. You are the producer and editor of your thoughts and emotions, and you are your own audience.”

“Seeing a positive outcome doesn’t mean denying your negative thoughts and feelings. You acknowledge they are there but you choose to dwell on the positive ones. It means genuinely becoming optimistic by deliberately rehearsing the positive imagery until it is yours. At a certain point you will discover that you believe it. You’ll feel a kind of surrender…”

“When you envision your healing process, feel as well as see the comforting feeling flow through the recovering part of your body.”

These principles apply to much of life, if we let them. But’s it’s not easy.
