Paganini — June 28, 2010

Paganini, my Burnese cat who helped me through ovarian cancer and treatment, died this morning at the veterninary clinic where he has been seen recently for kidney failure. He received a permanent sedative while resting in my arms and he went very quickly.

He has been my angel for almost 20 years so this brings a new era for me. Those of you who know me will understand.

His younger companion, Maui, a little Burmese girl at six pounds and now age nine, will adjust as will we all. I have know for quite a while that this day was coming but I can hardly believe it is here. I wrote recently that we each get one chance to die. I am content that Paganini’s transition was as good as it could be for me and I trust for him.
